From our home base of Bluff Lake just south of Tatla Lake, White Saddle Air provides helicopter air charters to the Coast Mountain Range and Cariboo Chilcotin Plateau, of British Columbia, Canada. We have been flying people in and around the Coast Mountains for the past 48 years. Located near the base of Mount Waddington, British Columbia's highest peak, this remote region of BC offers the adventurer some of the richest wilderness grounds in the world. Cast your eyes and camera upon unbelievable scenic beauty - from stunning mountains, glaciers and glacier fed lakes, to pristine raw wilderness - this is where dreams are made.

Our Services

Air tours and charters to remote locations catering to photographers, extreme sports enthusiasts, and tourists are areas in which White Saddle Air excels. We also provide support to industry such as mining exploration, forestry, firefighting, search and rescue/ ambulance services as well as on location filming.

Alpine Exploring

Since 1975, White Saddle Air has been flying alpine exploring groups into several mountain ranges in the Coast Range including the well known Mount Waddington Range. Mount Waddington is a short flight away from our base and can be seen minutes after departure. Movies such as Seven Years in Tibet and K2 were filmed in this area.

Climbing groups from all around the world fly with us for day trips or overnight campouts to the Waddington, Pantheon, Queen Bess, Homathko and Niut Ranges. Our high elevation equipped helicopters have the ability to transport passengers to virtually any place in these mountain ranges. See Mount Waddington, the highest peak within British Columbia; travel to remote glaciers, alpine meadows and wilderness at its finest.

The best times for alpine exploring in these regions is June to September.

Ski-Mountaineering & Touring

Some of the top world class backcountry skiing is available in British Columbia’s Chilcotin and Coast Mountains and White Saddle Air can take you there. Ski Mountaineering and Touring groups from all around the world fly with us to the Waddington, Homathko, Pantheon, Monarch, and Niut Ranges.

Ideal back country ski conditions are March to June.

The Location

British Columbia's highest peak, this remote region of BC offers the adventurer with some of the richest wilderness grounds in the world. White Saddle Air is a family owned and operated company. We provide helicopter service from our heli-port base at Bluff Lake near Tatla Lake in Cariboo Chilcotin Region of British Columbia Canada. 240 Kms from Williams Lake on Highway 20, turn left just before the townsite of Tatla Lake, drive approximately 5 km and take your first right on the Bluff Lake Road, you will travel 21 km before you reach our base at the south end of Bluff Lake.
